History/Venues of Wresting Championships

The New York State Public High School Athletic Association Wrestling State Championship is one of the biggest high school events of the year. With 520 qualified wrestlers competing in the tournament each year, the event has doubled its spectator attendance since 2003. In 2007, the tournament saw over 15,000 fans visit the Times Union Center in Albany following nearly 18,000 fans coming to the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island in 2006.
